Specialist digital product and experience design studio B-Reel has launched an interactive digital showroom for the LVMH Prize Foundation, bringing fashion's most prestigious award for young designers to life and allowing the fashion community to get closer to the prize than ever before.
Now in its 10th year, the LVMH Prize is fashion's most prestigious award for young designers, seeing many notable names, selected for their talent and outstanding creativity, become fashion stars like S.S.Daley and Grace Wales Bonner.
Delivered by the LVMH Prize Foundation, LVMH Group’s non-for-profit arm, it embodies the commitment of the Group, and its Houses, to nurture young talent, enabling the emergence of a new generation of designers.
This year’s digital showroom, launched on 1 March, is the B-Reel’s most immersive work to date. The team elevated the craft to create a platform that authentically mimics the act of walking through a physical space. It reflects B-Reel’s vision to push the limits of luxury in the digital space, helping clients to create unique digital experiences to stand out in a digital ecosystem that is becoming more standardised than ever.
The digital showroom allows audiences to interact with the designs and scroll seamlessly through the platform. Individual pages for each designer maximise the fashion pieces, enabling users to rotate and look at in-depth design details using 360-degree rotational imagery sequences with a vividness that even 3D can’t sufficiently provide.
The studio briefed each designer to create original portraits and films to present a rich visual insight into the designer’s brand and creative process.
B-Reel Senior Art Director, Christian Lowell, commented: “We always strive to bring people closer to the LVMH Prize, using digital solutions to break the boundary between physical and digital worlds, and winning awards along the way. We’re delighted to launch this year’s digital showroom that really highlights the power of technology to engage audiences in exciting new ways and elevates what’s possible in web.”
After browsing designers, audiences can vote for their favourite, using the voting function, integrated within the platform for the first time this year: 16% of the final votes will be cast by fans at home. Launched on 1 March when voting opens, the digital showroom will remain open when the shortlists and finalists are announced later in the month.
Miriam Martin Price, B-Reel Art Director, added: “Every year, we want to bring a new and surprising element to the Prize and this is definitely our most immersive experience yet. We had to do justice to the craft involved in the designer’s pieces and highlight the stories and details that will help to build the future of fashion.”
