Business leaders from H&M, to KPMG, through to Guess, as well as academics from the likes of Hong Kong Polytechnic University will gather for the upcoming edition of Retail’s Cutting Edge - the largest conference of Hong Kong retailers and suppliers.
Organisers Inside Retail, APAC’s leading retail publisher, have designed RCE to challenge traditional thinking, bring fresh perspectives into the retail space, and widen connections in the industry.
The one-day event, taking place on 23rd January 2019, will centre around four key themes:
Retail for the next decade
Speakers in this section will answer hard pressing questions about tomorrow’s online and offline retail space: What does Jack Ma’s global ambition hold for today’s retailers? How have online and offline converged and what will be the next step? How will Hema reshape convenience retailing?
Blockchain in retail
Cryptocurrencies have given blockchain a bad name. Speakers in this section will look at the benefits of blockchain in retail and discuss possible applications, including the technology’s use in supply chain, proving product authenticity, trading customer loyalty and building customer profiles.
Global change pain points
This section will look at the way sustainability and the demand for conscious businesses are changing the ways brands interact with customers.
AR and VR
Is the technology getting good enough to move mainstream? For several years now, tech companies have been talking up virtual reality technologies for retailing - online and offline. But most of us still consider it a gimmick. Talks in this section will discuss if all of this is about to change.
Beyond the inspiring talks, the event will include round-the-clock activities and entertainment, exhibition are with the region’s most promising startups and much more!
