While the hype around the metaverse has cooled down since 2022, there are still plenty of activities to get involved in. One that we’re definitely excited about is the second iteration of Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week, taking place from 28th to 31st March.
This year’s MVFW will demonstrate the potential of interoperability between open metaverses. With the curatorial theme Future Heritage, MVFW23 is dedicated to connecting emerging digital designers with established traditional fashion institutions. Unlike 2022, this year's MVFW is cross-world -- not just in Decentraland. Brands like DG, Coach, and Diesel all have activations, so read on to see our top picks.
DRESSX joins MVFW23 as a curator, bringing 3D fashion brands Blade Runway and Injury to the DRESSX flagship store in Decentraland. You will be able to discover some of the metaverse hottest brands at the DRESSX location and claim a free wearable (available only for the DRESSX flagship store visitors).
Bringing ten looks from the DUNDAS D24 Paris Fashion Week show into the metaverse, DUNDAS and DRESSX continue introducing the concept of ‘see now, wear now’. With digital twins available for the audience during the show, DUNDAS and DRESSX are making fashion looks wearable on photos and avatars straight off the runway.
The drop will merge traditional and digital fashion worlds, utilising the Opéra in Paris, where the DUNDAS D24 Paris Fashion show took place, as the backdrop for the digital artworks. The iconic runway looks will be available for purchase as wearable NFTs on nft.dressx.com and on DCL marketplace, 24 hours prior to the event. Those who buy DUNDAS NFT’s in advance, will be able to wear their looks on Decentraland avatars during the digital fashion show.
Mint of the exclusive looks from the collection will be available right at the location of the show and in the DUNDAS store in DECENTRALAND, linked to nft.dressx.com for a convenient and smooth experience. Guests of the DUNDAS show will also be able to participate in a draw to win exclusive avatar skins created by Peter Dundas, UME and DRESSX especially for the Metaverse Fashion Week show to dress up fashionably in DUNDAS metaverse outfits.
This year Tommy Hilfiger returns to Metaverse Fashion Week hosting a four-day program centered around fashion, art and innovation with a selection of culture shapers in the Web3 space.
