Another fashion month is behind us and while we didn’t see as much tech updates on the runway, the fashion tech crowd was as active as ever. We walked on water at Denmark’s first floating show, talked about smart retail at Avantex Paris and discussed how fashion can use technology to tap into the Transformation Economy at Digital Fashion Forum. And as we’re entering a full fall season, there’s much more to get excited about. Here are our top event picks in the coming months.

What: Fashion Tech Week
Where: Paris, France
When: 12th – 20th October 2017
The rundown: The fifth edition of Fashion Tech Week will bring together industry experts and enthusiasts for a mix of events across the French capital, with an opening night that will include speakers from Lectra, Easysize and Amazon.
Other highlights include a fashion tech pitch night, where 5 startups will present their ideas in from of an expert jury, Fashion tech expo, which will welcome 18 exhibitors presenting products and services across the categories Morphing fashion, High-tech fashion and Eco-citizen fashion and a hackathon. What: Superhuman Summit
Where: Vancouver, Canada
When: 21st October 2017
The rundown: Superhuman Summit is a single day speaker-focused event presenting ideas on how to advance your human potential. A collection of expert speakers, musical performances, and lunchtime breakouts led by unique specialists will lead you to become more superhuman.
This single-day showcase presents lessons, stories and practices from superhuman specialists that are rooted in science, practiced achievement and tested technologies. Each speaker and experience embodies qualities that exceed those found in normal humans, but have sounded application for the lifelong learner. What: Deutsche Telekom Fashion Fusion Competition
Where: Berlin, Germany / Applicants from all across Europe can apply
When: 17th November 2017
The rundown: Fashion Fusion is an initiative and accelerator program by Deutsche Telekom at the intersection of fashion and technology – turning visionary concepts into lifestyle reality. Talents throughout Europe are given the unique opportunity to realise their visionary concepts for high-tech apparel, wearables and digital lifestyle products and bring them to market. If selected, the teams get expert mentors and advice from fashion and startup leaders.
Participants from all over Europe can submit their ideas until 17th November 2017. The judges are looking for visionary ideas for fusions of high tech with high fashion in three categories: Connected Devices & Smart Accessories; Haute Couture & Show Fashion and Business Solutions & Smart Services. An expert jury will select ten finalist teams to develop their projects and be part of the accelerator from February to May 2018. Seamless integration of technology and marketability of the products will play a central role in choosing the three winning teams, which will be announced at an exclusive award show in July 2018. What: Echo in Dubai
Where: Dubai, UAE
When: 14th – 16th December 2017
The rundown: Echo Dubai is the region’s first multi-sensory festival where art, design and technology intersect to provide a platform for local and international businesses, brands and minds to connect and collaborate. This year’s edition will launch in Dubai under the theme, “Interacting with the future”. The three day festival will include an expo showcasing immersive installations by local and international exhibitors, a conference to exchange knowledge and generate new ideas within the industry, workshops across a range of artistic and creative disciplines hosted by international experts and a sound festival that combines leading musical talent with audio-visual technology, to offer a truly immersive experience.
